CodeSecCon Virtual Event Focuses on Secure Software and AI Development

SecurityWeek is hosting CodeSecCon today, August 19, 2026, a virtual event focused on application security, secure software development and the challenges introduced by artificial intelligence. More than 1,500 people have registered, according to the event organizer.

The program is designed for developers, security practitioners and technology leaders who want to improve collaboration between engineering and security teams. Sessions will cover secure coding practices, vulnerability reduction, cloud protection and the development of a stronger DevSecOps culture.

Artificial intelligence is a major theme throughout the agenda. Presentations will examine how organizations can integrate AI into applications while limiting sensitive-data exposure, secure agent runtimes against jailbreak attempts, and reduce the risks associated with excessive permissions. Speakers will also discuss controls for AI gateways and methods for enforcing least privilege in AI coding agents.

• AI Gateway as a Security Control Plane: Schlumberger engineer Chris Bao will examine content, access and operational controls.
• Securing AI-Assisted Development: JPMorgan Chase executive Ravikumar Dwivedi will present a model for human and AI collaboration in software engineering.
• Beyond Encryption: Microsoft’s Jitendra Singh will discuss protecting sensitive telemetry in cloud-native applications.

CodeSecCon is being presented as an opportunity for development and security teams to review practical approaches to building, deploying and maintaining safer applications, including software that incorporates generative or autonomous AI capabilities.
